In Diablo 4, Strongholds are special areas of the world map that you can liberate and earn Renown points that can help you unlock skill points, extra potion capacity and Paragon Points that are shared amongst all your characters on your server.
Finding all the Strongholds in Diablo 4 can be quite difficult as these locations only become visible when you discover the area through the map's fog of war. Luckily, we've got you covered with all the Stronghold Locations so you can get that easy Renown!
Renown Points are regional specific points you can earn through completing various tasks, like completing a Dungeon, finishing a Quest and clearing a Stronghold.
Each Stronghold you liberate will give you 100 Renown Points, which is by far the most Renown you can earn for one single task. There are 3 Strongholds that you can complete in each area, earning a max of 300 Renown Points.

Completing Strongholds is the best way to earn Renown Points and complete your Regional Map rewards.

Dry Steppes Strongholds
Strongholds:
- The Onyx Watchtower
- Temple of Rot
- Ruins of Qara-Yisu
Fractured Peaks Strongholds
Strongholds:
- Kor Dragan
- Nostrava
- Malnok
Hawezar Strongholds
Strongholds:
- Eriman's Pyre
- Crusaders' Monument
- Vyeresz
Kehjistan Strongholds
Strongholds:
- Altar of Ruin
- Alcarnus
- Omath's Redoubt
Each Stronghold will have a different quest and fight that you'll have to solve.
When you head to a Stronghold, a new quest will automatically pop-up and detail what you need to do. It usually involves clearing out several round of monsters and elites, before you make your way to fight the Stronghold's Boss.
Upon defeating the Stronghold Boss, you then will be able to liberate the Stronghold and it will turn into a normal area. Sometimes these areas turn into towns that come with new Waypoint Markers and NPCs for things like Blacksmith, Weapon Store and more.
Don't forget that the Stronghold Boss is also likely to drop Legendaries too!
