Originally released in 1997, Final Fantasy VII is one of the most popular RPGs of all time. A remake had been on the cards for a number of years, with it finally being announced in 2015 at E3.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Overview
FF7 Remake has been anticipated by fans for years, with them finally being able to get their hands on the game when it was released on PS4 in April 2020. It since has been released on PS5 and PC with an upgraded version called Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
There has been no news yet whether it will ever be released on Xbox or other platforms.
The game is based on the opening of the original Final Fantasy 7, with the story focus being on the metropolis city of Midgar and Avalanche's struggle against the Shinra Electric Power Company.
Cloud is our main character, an EX-SOLDIER who has joined up with Avalanche as a mercenary to help them with their plight against the corruption of Shinra.
The story is expanded upon with great detail, with the main scenario taking around 30 hours to complete without doing any side-quests. The game should be treated like playing a main-series title Final Fantasy, with the level of content being up to that standard.
The game is fully-voice acted and sees a brand new action-orientated combat system to replace the old-school ATB battle system from the original game.
How many parts will there be in Final Fantasy 7 Remake? Who knows. Right now, Square Enix and director Tetsuya Nomura have only mentioned that the game will have multiple parts, without putting a specific number on it.
There has already been DLC / Spin off content added, with a new scenario added to Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade called Episode Intermission, featuring the character Yuffie.
