MapleStory Cube Revamp!

MapleStory has just released a new patch in which the old cubes (red and black) are being replaced with new ones.

• As we mentioned in our Maple Memo, MapleStory is retiring the current set of Cubes, and releasing a new slate of Cubes, utilizing a new Cube Fragment system, and allowing some Cubes to have a chance to increase up to two ranks.
• The following existing Cubes will be discontinued:
  • Occult Cubes
  • Bonus Occult Cubes
  • Master Craftsman’s Cubes
  • Meister’s Cubes
  • Red Cubes
  • Black Cubes
  • Bonus Potential Cubes
  • White Cubes
  • Karma Meister’s Cubes
  • Karma Master Craftsman’s Cubes
  • Karma Bonus Occult Cubes
• The following new cubes will be added [Updated Feb 8]:
  • Mystical Cubes: Obtained from boss and elite monsters, harvesting, Monster Collection, Pollo & Fritto, and Monster Park. Can be used on Rare to Epic items to reroll Potential.
  • Bonus Mystical Cubes: Obtained from bosses only in the Regular World. Can be used on items up to Rare tier to reroll Bonus Potential.
  • Hard Cubes: Obtained from boss and elite monsters, harvesting, crafting in Regular World, Monster Collection, Pollo & Fritto, Monster Park, and the Reboot World General Store. Can be used on Rare to Unique items to reroll Potential. Max Result: Unique. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates if used on Rare items.
  • Solid Cubes: Obtained from boss and elite monsters, harvesting, crafting in Regular World, Monster Collection, Pollo & Fritto, and Monster Park. Can be used on Rare to Legendary items to reroll Potential. Max Result: Legendary. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates if used on Rare items.
  • Glowing Cubes: Can be purchased from Cash Shop. (Regular World 1200NX/per, Reboot World 12,000,000 Meso/per) Can be used on Rare to Legendary items to reroll Potential. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates. Max Result: Legendary.
  • Bright Cubes: Can be purchased from Cash Shop. (Regular World 2200NX/per, Reboot World 22,000,000 Meso/per) Can be used on Rare to Legendary items to reroll Potential, with the option to choose before or after Potential lines. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates. Max Result: Legendary.
  • Bonus Glowing Cubes: Can be purchased from Cash Shop. (Regular World 2400NX/per) Can be used on Rare to Legendary items to reroll Bonus Potential. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates. Max Result: Legendary.
  • Bonus Bright Cubes: Can be purchased from Cash Shop event sales on Regular World. Can be used on Rare to Legendary items to reroll Bonus Potential, with the option to choose before or after Bonus Potential lines. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates. Max Result: Legendary.
  • Karma Solid Cubes: Obtained through in-game events. Can be used on Rare to Legendary untradeable items to reroll Potential. Max Result: Legendary. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates if used on Rare items.
  • Karma Hard Cubes: Obtained through in-game events. Can be used on Rare to Unique untradeable items to reroll Potential. Max Result: Unique. Can increase up to 2 ranks according to set probability rates if used on Rare items.
  • Karma Bonus Mystical Cubes: Obtained through in-game events. Can be used on Rare untradeable items to reroll Bonus Potential.
• Previous cubes can’t be used after the patch, will be deleted during the patch, and the same number of new cubes as those deleted will be distributed. (Cubes obtained from Marvel Machine will also be changed to new cubes.)
• There will also be adjustments to how the Cube Fragment system works. The new Cubes will give new Cube Fragments when used.
• [Updated Feb 8] (Cube Fragments cannot be used in Reboot World.)
• You will get Cube Fragment upon using the Glowing Cube, Cube Fragment (x2) upon using the Bright Cube, Cube Fragment (x2) upon using the Bonus Glowing Cube, and Cube Fragment (x3) upon using the Bonus Bright Cube.
• These Fragments can be exchanged for a variety of items listed below:
  • Advanced Potential Scroll: 5 Cube Fragments
  • Special Potential Scroll: 10 Cube Fragments
  • Bonus Potential Scroll 70%: 15 Cube Fragments
  • Perfect Potential Stamp: 30 Cube Fragments
  • Perfect Bonus Potential Stamp: 50 Cube Fragments
  • Special Bonus Potential Stamp: 100 Cube Fragments
  • Epic Potential Scroll 80%: 100 Cube Fragments
• Existing Cube Fragments – including Red Cube Fragments, Black Cube Fragments, Bonus Potential Cube Fragments, and White Cube Fragments – that are obtained prior to this patch will be usable until March 22 at 12:00 AM UTC, 2023.
• A Meso refund will be processed for players who requested refunds for their permanent Red/Black Cubes in Reboot World based on the number of total deleted cubes.
