In Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Rot are little creatures that accompany Kena on her journey. You can find Rot all over the world and there are plenty to collect. This guide will show you all the locations of the Rot and how you can find them.

The amount of Rot you find also increase your Rot Level. Below is how many Rot you need to find for each level:
- Level 0-1: 5 Rot
- Level 1-2: 10 Rot
- Level 2-3: 20 Rot
- Level 3-4: 30 Rot
- Level:4-5: 35 Rot
This guide is split up into locations. You can see how many Rot you have remaining to find in each area by using your Map, as it gives you the statistics for that particular area.
Some Rot cannot be found until you complete parts of the story (as it unlocks various abilities that help you reach new areas).
Beginning Area
This area is just before you start the main game and reach The Village. There are 5 Rot you can find here.
Rot #1
The first Rot you'll find is in a puddle of goo in the first area you come to when chasing the two children. Use your Spirit Pulse to reveal the Rot.
Rot #2
In the same area, head to your left and you'll find a giant waterfall on the right. Near here is a stone with purple runes etched on it; use Spirit Pulse to get a Rot to appear.
Rot #3
Head towards the waterfall. There is a dial on the floor; use your Spirit Pulse and it will activate the stone crossing, allowing you to reach the waterfall. Enter, and you'll find a Rot in a statue (use Spirit Pulse to get it come out).
Rot #4
Before the waterfall, there is an area with a lantern that glows purple. Use Spirit Pulse to reveal the Rot.
Rot #5
There is a bunch of stone ruins at the leftside of the map; head through them and down some stairs to find a Treasure Chest containing Rot #5.
You also get three Rot after defeating the Sprout boss.
The Village Rot Locations
The Village is a huge area in the game and many of the Rot cannot be found until you complete various story quests. We've put the abilities you need in order to get these Rot.
You can use the map above to get a general idea of where the Rot's are located too.
Rot #1
Your first Rot in The Village can be found at the center of the Village on a desk. Just use your Spirit Pulse to get it to come out.
Rot #2
You can find a Rot up near where Zajuro is; take the right path and you'll notice a rock in the middle that is hiding a Rot.
Rot #3
This rot is hiding behind a house near the entrance to Taro's Tree. This house is locked behind a Spirit Mail that is in a nearby house.
Rot #29
Required: Bow
Once you have the Bow, you can take a trip to the Archery Range by unlocking the drawbridge on the right side of the path to Taro's Tree. Once at Archery Range, there will be a lever at the bottom of the area that requires you to complete three different challenges. Once complete, a Rot will spawn.
Rot #30
Unlock the house on the left-side of the Village using Spirit Mail #3. Inside are three Cursed Chests that require you to beat up monsters within a specific time period. Completing the Cursed Chest on the left gives a Rot.
Rot #31
Unlock the house at the top of The Village with Spirit Mail #2 and at the side of the house is a log with a Rot underneath.
Rot #35
There is a pile of glowing rocks in the area before the Storehouse. Throw a Bomb to explode them and a Rot will pop out.
Rot #36
One of the lanterns on the bridge in the area before the Storehouse contains a Rot (it is glowing purple).
Rot #59
After using the Spirit Mail #7 to unlock the house, you can find a small docking where a lantern glows purple containing the Rot.
Rot #60
After using the Spirit Mail #9 to unlock the house, you can find a Rot inside the house under a draw.
Rot #61
After using the Spirit Mail #6 to unlock the house, you can find an Archery Challenge on top of the house that when completed gives you a Rot.
Rot #62
After using the Spirit Mail #5 to unlock the house, you can find a small pond with frogs at the back of the house. Hit each crystal once to generate a Rot.
Rot #63
After using the Spirit Mail #10 (village docks) to unlock the house, you can find a Rot at the top of the house in a Treasure Chest.
Rot #64
Inside one of the houses in the Village there is a Rot hiding in one of the draws.
Rot #65
After using the Spirit Mail #8, destroy the Deadzone Flower in the middle of the area and then use a Teleport Flower to cross over to it. There is a bucket attached to the side of the dock that contains a Rot.
Taro's Tree Rot Locations
Use the map above to get a general idea of where the Rot's are located in Taro's Tree.
Rot #4
After a quick battle with some monsters, you'll find your first Forest Tear. Use the Forest Tear to clear away some hay stacks; this will reveal a log with a Rot underneath it.
Rot #5
The area just before Taro's Tree (forest area) there is a small battle where another Forest Tear appears. Use it to break the Red Deadzone Weeds and you can enter a cave where a Rot is.
Rot #6
This rot can be found on the left side of the forest near a cliff edge over looking the river. There is a couple of rocks on the ground that you can use your Rot to lift up to reveal a Rot.
Rot #7
On the right side of the forest, there is a small area where a log is; use your Rot to look under it to find a new Rot.
Rot #8
Requirements: Bow
Once you obtain your Bow, you can shoot down this purple lantern and out comes a Rot.
Rot #9
Requirements: Bow
You can find this rot by first locating a fallen tree right near the center of Taro's Tree. Jump on it, and use your Bow to teleport up by hitting the blue flower. Follow the path around and climb the walls, eventually coming to a rock on the floor with a Rot underneath it.
Rot #10
This Rot can be found on a stone just before you enter towards Rusu's Mountain area Gorge.
Rusu's Mountain Rot Locations
Use the map above of Rusu Mountain for a general idea of what the Rot are located.
Rot #11
You can find the first Rot in Rusu Mountain by swimming across the lake to the left; you'll see a waterfall and to the left of it are some rocks you can climb up onto. There will be a Rot underneath a Rock further along.
Rot #12
When you enter the area with the Deadzone Flower and destroy it, you can find a Rot hiding underneath a rock to the right.
Rot #13
As you head up towards Rusu Mountain, you'll come to an area with sloping mud that if you jump onto it you'll slide back down. Climb all the way to the top and look down; you'll see a platform on the right that you can jump up onto (you can double jump whilst sliding to climb onto the platform). Then further up is a glowing rock containing the Rot.
Rot #14
When you come to a cliff edge, you'll see Beni and Saiya looking out towards Rusu's house. Look down from that cliff edge and you'll see you can climb down to a platform. There is a glowing rock you can get a Rot out of.
Rot #15
As you find your way past the giant cliffs of Rusu's Mountain; just before you find the bridge that the Rot pull, you can find a small cliff edge to jump up. Here there is a block you can move with your Rot Action and climb up to find a Rot hiding under a stone.
Rot #16
Required: Bow
After getting your Bow from Rusu, head down to the bottom of his Archery Range and you can find a hanging purple Rot to hit.
Rot #17
After defeating the Wood Knight, you can enter Rusu's house and find a Rot hiding in a chest of drawers.
Rot #18
Just behind Rusu's house is a cave that takes you to an open area. In a nearby orange flower patch, there is a hiding Rot.
Rot #19
Required: Bow
Just in front of Rusu's house is a patch of mud with a strange contraption in front of it. If you shoot an arrow at it, it will create a Forest Tear for you. Use the Forest Tear to then reveal the plants in the mud-patch, eventually revealing a giant fruit/vegetable that has a Rot on it.
Rot #20
Required: Bow
The final Rot in Rusu Mountain is back by the lake; use your Bow to fire at the Teleport Flower and there is a Rot hiding in a glowing purple rock.
Forgotten Forest Rot Locations
Use the map above for a general idea of where the Rot are located in the Forgotten Forest.
Rot #21
There is a secret cave just before a giant tree trunk that has a Rot inside a purple rock.
Rot #22
In order to get this rot, first you must cleanse the Water Shrine so that the Forest Tear is available. Use the Forest Tear to clear away the Deadzone Weeds just in front of the shrine to reveal a large square block.
Use your Rot to move the block just next to the Teleport Warp. Climb up and then use your Rot to move the gate blocking the path. You can now use your Forest Tear to climb up the path and find a Haystack that has a Rot inside; use your Forest Tear to clear it out.
Rot #23
Required: Bow
On one of the long tree trunks facing out to God Tree Shrine, there is a marking on the floor. Activate it using your Shield Pulse and complete the Archery Test to reveal a Rot.
Rot #24
Required: Bow
At the top of the God Tree Shrine, there is a Teleport Flower that allows you to get on top of the house. Make your way round the back of it to find a Rot puddle on the floor.
Rot #25
Required: Bow
There is a hanging Rot in the forest area near where you summon the Sprout Captain boss (The Sacred Tree). Use your Bow to knock it down.
Rot #26
At the water shrine there is some ruined stairs; climb up them and you'll come to a small bridge. Jump off the bridge into the water; at the end of the river is a statue with a crystal embedded inside it; hit it with an arrow to reveal some stepping stones. You'll then come to a Meditation Spot; to the right is a Rot hiding under a rock.
Rot #27
After defeating the Mage to enter the area near the Lantern Cave, look to your right to find a Rot under a rock.
Rot #28
In the area near the entrance to the Lantern Cave (where you go down to it), there is a Haystack next to a Forest Tear. Use the Forest Tear to reveal a log with a Rot hiding underneath it.
Storehouse Rot Locations
Abilities Required: Bomb, Bow
The Storehouse becomes available after defeating Corrupt Taro.
Rot #1
You can find the first rot by throwing a Bomb at some Rocks near the dial at the end of the room.
Rot #2
When you slide down into the cave (where you fight several mobs that can only be destroyed by throwing bombs at them), look upwards and you'll see a flower you can teleport to. There is a chest on the same platform that contains a Rot.
Rot #3
The final Rot in this area is near the Power Crystal that you find after exiting the cave with the bomb mobs. There is a set of stairs you can go up.
Follow it around and you'll come to some rocks blocking your way; throw your Bomb to open it up.
Then you can do an Archery Challenge to release the Rot.
Fields Rot Locations
Use the map above to get an idea of where the Rot are located in the Fields section.
Rot #37
This rot can be found hidden behind some glowing rocks. Head towards Tower Entrance and to the left of it you'll see glowing rocks; hit them with a bomb and then align the long platform up by shooting an arrow at the crystal. Use the Teleport Flower to get up and then throw a Bomb at the glowing crystals wedge in the wood. Behind there you'll find your rot.
Rot #38
When you go down into the Tower Entrance via the spiral stone steps, there is a purple statue in the corner of the room that has a rot inside it. This is just have after the mini-battle with some mobs.
Rot #39
When you exit the Tower Entrance deep cavern, you'll find several Teleport Flowers that take you towards a lift. Underneath a piece of wood is a Rot.
Rot #40
There is a house to the left of Tower Entrance that you come to after getting off the elevator for Rot #39. There are some glowing rocks on the floor; throw a bomb at them to get them in the air, then hit the crystal on the largest rock to rotate. Go inside the house and climb up onto the ledge so you can then jump onto the floating rocks. To the side of the house are more glowing rocks, throw another bomb and rotate the platform so that you can land on it from the Teleport Flower. Use this rock to jump onto the roof of the house and find a Treasure Chest with a Rot inside.
Rot #41
In the house at Rufus' Barn, there is a Rot in the roof. You can get to it by throwing a bomb on some glowing rocks outside the house.
Rot #42
After you clear the Deadzone Flower at the Watchtower, you can complete an Archery Challenge to get another Rot.
Rot #43
After Rufus clears the boulder rocks out of your way, head up the path to find another Archery Challenge you can undertake to get another Rot.
Rot #44
On your way towards Forge, there is a Rot on the left path.
Rot #45
On your way towards Forge, there is a small inset that you can go in and find a Rot under a piece of wood.
Rot #46
In the very corner of the map at the north-west, there is a glowing rock you can use a bomb to explode and inside is a Rot.
Rot #50
You can find Rot #50 on the roof of a house.
Rot #51
There is a house next to a Forest Tear (you'll need to move to bucket to create it). Use the Forest Tear near the patch of earth to bring up several pumpkins and then use Spirit Pulse to grab the Rot and the Hat.
Rot #52
There is a Treasure Chest underneath a bridge that contains a Rot.
Rot #53
Use the Forest Tear near the Fields teleport marker (you should shoot an arrow at the wooden structure nearby to create the Forest Tear) and bring it down to the mudpatch to bring up a pear/fruit that has a Rot on it.
Rot #54
Complete the Cursed Chest at the house to the right of the Fields teleport marker to get Rot #54.
Rot #55
Near the Forge Path teleport marker, there is a house with some Deadzone Weed blocking the way. Use a nearby Forest Tear to wipe it out and then enter the house. In the roof is a Rot.
Rot #56
In the area where the Watchtower is, if you throw a bomb at the first set of glowing rocks, climb up them you should see a Teleport Flower in a house to the south. Hit it and inside the house will be a Treasure Chest containing a Rot.
Rot #57
There is a pile of rocks near the river that when exploded will contain a Rot.
Rot #58
Back at Rufus' Barn, head to the lake beside it and use the contraption that rotates the platform around for you; allow it to get 180 degrees so you can jump onto the barn and find a Rot in a Treasure Chest.
Village Heart Rot Locations
Rot #47
When you first enter the Village Heart Entrance and drop all the way down into the water, there are some glowing rocks in the water. If you look to your right, you can see a Teleporter Flower. Hit it with an arrow and then immediately aim ahead to find another Teleporter Flower. There is a rot on the floor.
Rot #48
Inside the Village Heart cave you'll come to an area with several glowing rocks in the water surrounded by red poison. Navigate to the top of these and there will be a rot on the cliffside to the left.
Rot #49
In the Village Heart Caves, the room that has the giant firewave come towards you, there is a secret pathway underneath the giant staircase at the end of the map (underneath where the old Deadzone Flower is). You will have need to have destroyed the Deadzone Flower first so that you can swim in the water. There is a Rot hiding under a piece of wood and a Hat in the Treasure Chest.
