MapleStory 6th Job Guide

MapleStory 6th Job Advancement is available starting at Level 260 and will give your class brand new skills and access to the new HEXA Matrix system. This guide will explain all the mechanics of 6th job and give you some tips on where to start.

Like most Job Advancements in MapleStory, each class will get access to a special quest that starts at Level 260. Upon completing the quest, you'll unlock your new 6th job skills and can begin upgrading them.

HEXA Matrix

MapleStory 6th Job was introduced in patch New Age Patch V246 and was one of the biggest updates in MapleStory History. Every MapleStory Class got a brand new 6th job ultimate skill and access to the new HEXA Stat system that boosts damage massively.

Two new currencies have also been introduced in the form of Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments, which is used to upgrade your skills and stats. Read more below!

Level 260 Job Advancement Quest

In order to start the 6th Job Advancement you need to be Level 260, completed 5th job advancement and the quest "[Convergence] True Form".

The (Lv 260) [Convergence] Under Ereve quest unlocks once you reach Level 260 and complete the Limina quest line in the Arcane River. Follow the Convergence questline through to the end and you will unlock the 6th Job Advancement quest.

6th Job Advancement Quest

To start the 6th Job Advancement, accept the following quest: [Job Advancement] (Lv. 260) [6th job] Merged Dimension.

TIP: The 6th Job Advancement requires killing quite a lot of mobs! A good idea is to get plenty of 3x EXP/2x EXP Coupons to help speed this process up as much as possible.

You'll be tasked with killing 10 mobs. Note you need at least 850 Arcane Force from your Arcane Symbols to hit mobs for 100% damage in this area.

Sol Erda

Follow the quest line through and you'll be teleported inside to a place called the Erda Torrent.

Speak to the Goddess of Maple and accept the quest Goddess Inside Erda (1).

Arcane Stone

You'll be given an Arcane Stone. Double click it in your Inventory and you'll now need to accumulate EXP so that it fills up the EXP bar to 100%. The total amount is 50,000,000,000 (fifty billion EXP!). It'll take around 1 hour to fill up without any EXP Boosters.

Once complete, talk to Goddess Of Maple to complete the quest.

Start the quest The Faint Voice and head to your right until you come across the Goddess of Grandis. Accept the quest Goddess Inside Erda (2). You'll be given another Arcane Stone- fill it up with another 50 billion of EXP!

Grandis Goddess

Once complete, talk to Goddess Of Grandis and a short cutscene will follow. Head to your right again and this time you'll find the Goddess Of Tynerum.

You know the drill- another Arcane Stone needs filling up with 50,000,000,000 EXP! Accept the quest Goddess Inside Erda (3).

Once complete, speak to the Goddess of Tynerum and watch a short cutscene.

Arcane Stones

Speak to Goddess of Maple World and complete the quest (Lv.260) [6th job] Into the Sol Erda. Then speak to Goddess of Grandiss and you'll be given 6 Arcane Stones:

  • Vanishing Journey Stone
  • Chu Chu Island Stone
  • Lachelein Stone
  • Arcana Stone
  • Morass Stone
  • Esfera Stone

Each stone can be activated in your Inventory and you'll need to earn 50,000,000,000 EXP. You can only activate one stone at a time.

Once you complete a stone, head back to the Sol Erda area and take the portal on your right.

Arcane Portals

You will come to the Sol Erda River. Here you can enter the portals of the Arcane Stones which you have completed. The portal will be highlighted as blue once it's available.

Once you complete a portal, you'll get the 50,000,000,000 EXP from the stone added!

Vanishing Journey Portal

Inside the Vanishing Journey portal you will find a Sol Erda Harvester.

Interacting with it will shoot a laser out of it. There will be three big bosses that appear on either side of the platform; defeat them to complete the area.

Once complete, you'll return to Erda Torrent and can speak to the Goddess of Grandis.

Chu Chu Island Portal

Inside the Chu Chu Island Portal all you have to do is click the three points around Muto's head.

Each point will then require you to press some key prompts.

Lachelein Portal

Lachelein

For this portal you just need to defeat all the mobs around the 6 points on the platforms. Keep rotating around the platforms to prevent the mobs destroying the targets.

Arcana Portal

Inside the Arcana Portal you'll need to rescue the small Spirit Erdas. To do so, just use your normal attack key several times on the mobs and they will be released.

There are a total of 6 to rescue.

Morass Portal

For the Morass Portal you need to just hit the Red Squares several times with your normal attack until you get the prompt it's time to move on.

Esfera Portal

In the Esfera Portal you need to defeat all the Sol Erda mobs.

Once you complete all 6 Arcane Stones, you'll be able to accept the quest (Lv.260)[6th job] A New Age.

6th Job Unlocked

After a short cutscene, you'll return to where you are and a new quest will appear called (Lv.260) [6th job] A New Power. This quest will unlock the HEXA Matrix!

HEXA MATRIX System

Hexa Matrix

The HEXA Matrix system is the main way of managing your new 6th Job Skills and Stats. Both skills and stats require two new currencies called Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments to upgrade them.

HEXA Skill System

When you first complete the 6th Job Advancement, you'll get a brand new Origin Skill for your class. This skill is placed in the HEXA Skill window automatically.

You then have the option of activating new nodes. There are four types:

  • Skill Node - Where your Origin skills go. There is currently only one skill per class at the time of writing this.
  • Mastery Node - Upgrades your existing 4th job skills with new effects and damage bonuses.
  • Boost Node - Boosts existing 5th job skills with more damage.
  • Common Node - These skills are available for every class in MapleStory.

Unlike 5th job, all the skills are available to you right away- they just need to be activated with Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments.

Each skill starts at Level 1, and can be increased (using Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments) up to Level 30.

If you look at your HEXA Skill matrix, you'll notice lots of node slots have "Coming Soon" tagged on them. These nodes will be added in future MapleStory patches.

HEXA Stat System

The second part of the HEXA Matrix system is the HEXA Stat area.

Here you can create Stat Nodes that give bonus stats. The following stats are available:

  • Boss Damage
  • Critical Damage
  • Ignore Defence
  • Damage
  • Attack
  • Main Stat

Each Stat Node that you create can have three different stats attached to it. One Main Stat and two Additional Stats.

The Main Stat (not to be confused with your Main Stat like STR, LUK, DEX, INT) can be assigned only once in a Stat Node.

The Additional Stats can be assigned up to 2 times across all the stat nodes you make.

It costs 5 Sol Erda and 10 Sol Erda Fragments to create a Stat Node.

Enhance A Stat Node

Once created, you can then Enhance each Stat Node you create by using Sol Erda Fragments to increase the rank of the Stat Node.

When you increase the rank of a Stat Node, there is a pre-determined chance that it will then increase the stats of your Stat Node. Somethimes when you Rank Up, you won't get any stat increases.

You have a max Rank of 20; so you get 20 potential stat increases if you're lucky!

You can change the different lines of stats on your Stat Node for Mesos (100,000,000 mesos per reset).

Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments

The two new currencies introduced for 6th Job are called Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments. Both are required for upgrading your skills and stats.

Sol Erda

Sol Erda comes from several ways:

  • Getting 1,000 Sol Erda Energy
  • Daily Quest
  • Events

Sol Erda Energy drops from every mob in Sacred Power Maps (Continental Grandis maps) but only at 10 Sol Erda Energy at a time.

You can also earn Sol Erda Energy by defeating Hard mode Bosses:

  • Lotus (Hard)
  • Damien (Hard)
  • Lucid (Hard)
  • Will (Hard)
  • Verus Hilla (Normal, Hard)
  • Guardian Angel Slime (Chaos)
  • Gloom (Chaos)
  • Darknell (Hard)
  • Black Mage (Hard, Extreme)
  • Chosen Seren (Normal, Hard, Extreme)
  • Kalos the Guardian (Chaos)
  • Kaling (Normal)

Sol Erda Fragments

The other currency needed is Sol Erda Fragments. You can obtain Sol Erda Fragments from:

  • Daily Quest
  • Regular Mobs

You cannot fuse Sol Erda Fragments to make Sol Erda (they are just two completely separate currencies).

There is a daily quest you can pick up that will reward you with:

  • 12 Sol Erda Fragments
  • 600 Sol Erda Energy

You need to defeat 3,000 Mobs in Sacred Power Maps.

MapleStory Origin Skills

Every class in MapleStory got a brand new Origin Skill for 6th job and it is auto-equipped once you complete the Job Advancement.

Each skill has a max level of 30, which can be raised using Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments.

Spirit Calibur Hero [Swordsmanship] Channels your spirit into your sword and cuts everything down.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casing. Chase Cut: 12 times, Damage: 3,900%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 14. Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Sacred Bastion Paladin The Holy Knight shimmers brilliantly, casting judgment upon enemies and relief upon allies.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casting. Shock Wave: 7 times, Damage: 3,600%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 7. Afterwards, Shock Wave: 5 times, Damage: 3,300%, Number of Attacks: 12 times. Creates a sanctuary for 30 seconds, activates Light of Judgment. Damage: 1,800%, Max Enemies Hit: 5, Number of Attacks: 6 with Paladin attacks within the sanctuary. Light of Judgment marks Divine Brand on enemies. Cooldown: 0.5 second. Skill Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Dead Space Dark Knight Throws a spear charged with dark energy to steal the life of all in its way.

Infernal Venom Arch Mage (Fire, Poison) Unleashes the incarnations of fire and poison to devastate your surroundings with the ultimate fusion of magic.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,500, invincible during casting. Fervent Drain Limit Expansion: 10 stacks, Duration: 20 seconds. The incarnation of fire and poison are liberated, Explosion Damage: 7,200%, Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 8, Number of Explosions: 6. The magic of the two incarnations combines, Explosion Damage: 5,400%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 12, Number of Powerful Explosion Magic: 8. Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Frozen Lightning Arch Mage (Ice, Lightning) Condenses high-pressure lightning with extreme cold then explodes it to create a frozen landscape where lightning flows.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,500, invincible during casting. Ice and lightning fusion magic, Damage: 3,000%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 6, Shockwaves: 10. Afterwards, Damage: 5,400%, Number of Attacks: 11, Shockwaves: 4. Creates a frozen land where lightning flows for 30 seconds. The magic power of the ice and lightning spread in the enemy's body and bloom every 2 seconds to deal additional damage. Cooldown: 360 seconds.

Holy Advent Bishop Unlocks your inner divine power, summoning archangels down from the heavens to wage holy war.

Ascendant Shadow Bow Master Unleashes a barrage of arrows that eclipses the sun.

Final Aim Marksman Attains the pinnacle of sniping to accurately spot and pin down far away enemies.

Forsaken Relic Pathfinder Deftly imbues your arrows with the cursed relic’s power.

    • Relic Liberation: Duration: 30 seconds, Ancient Force and Enchant Force Skill Final Damage: +15%. The Dreadnought Corsair A large naval vessel emerges from the mists, having traveled unknown seas under the command of a captain who knows no fear.

Super Cannon Explosion Cannoneer Fires a large cannon that decimates everything in its wake.

Durendal Mihile [Radiant Soul Skill] Annihilates evil with a sword of light that never dulls.

Astral Blitz Dawn Warrior A sword forged from your own soul cuts the formless space to reproduce the Big Bang.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casting. Chase Cut: 14 times, Damage: 7,200%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 5. Afterwards, triggers 5 Big Bang, Damage: 9,900%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 7. Increases final damage by 10% for 20 seconds when used. Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Eternity Blaze Wizard The phoenix that rules over the cycle of life and death manifests, bringing death to all.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casting. Flame occurs 9 times, Damage: 6,600%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 10. Flame of the Cycle at regular intervals for 30 seconds, Damage: 10,800%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 12. Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Mistral Spring Wind Archer A spring of wind bursts from the powerful emerald, drawing in any curious spirits that cross its path.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casting. Creates 9 Wind Blades, Damage: 2,400%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 10 with the Spirit Arrows from the emerald. After the attack ends, a wind spring creates Spirit Arrows to attack the enemy for 20 seconds. Replacement Cooldown: 3 seconds. Skill Cooldown: 360 seconds.
    • Spirit Arrows: Create 13 Spirit Arrows that attack with 6,600% damage.
    • Excited Spirit Arrows: Create 5 Excited Spirit Arrows that attack with 8,700% damage.
    • Strong Spirit Arrows: Create 3 Strong Spirit Arrows that attack with 10,200% damage.
Silence Night Walker With the power of infinite darkness, calls forth the Shadow Bat to silence enemies with fear.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casting. Chase Cut: 8 times, Damage: 6,000%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 8. For 30 seconds, when the attack hits, the Shadow Bat transforms into 3 huge Shadow Throwing Stars to track and attack the enemy.
    • Shadow Throwing Stars: Damage: 2,700%, Number of Attacks: 4. After hitting the enemy, the Shadow Throwing Stars attack by bouncing up to 5 times. Shadow Throwing Stars Recreation Cooldown: 3 seconds. Skill Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Thunder Wall Sea Wave Thunder Breaker Pummels foes with a fist of lightning that splits the seas.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,200, invincible during casting. Shock Wave: 11 times, Damage: 3,240%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 4. Afterward, Shock Wave: 14 times, Damage: 5,520%, Number of Attacks: 7. Cooldown: 360 seconds.
Adrenaline Surge Aran Channels your innate fighting spirit to enter an awakened Adrenaline state that greatly enhances your physical abilities.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 1,500, Awakened Adrenaline State Duration: 20 seconds. When in Adrenaline Surge, activate a shockwave, Damage: 600%, Max Enemies Hit: 8, Number of Attacks: 10. Shockwave activates Swing Studies afterimage. Using the skill again ends awakened Adrenaline and activates 7 final blows, Damage: 8,400%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 14. During Adrenaline Surge, Number of Final Blows: +1 per 200 accumulated combos. Invincible during casting of final blow. Cooldown: 360 seconds.

Zodiac Burst Evan Evan and Mir harness the resonance of the stars to create a giant constellation.

Harmonic Paradox Luminous [Equilibrium] Summons an entity in harmonious balance between the forces of light and darkness.
  • Lv. 30: MP Cost: 3,000, Active Equilibrium Duration: +10 seconds, invincible during casting. Max Key-Down Duration: 3.5 seconds, Damage: 4,200%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 5, summons entity of harmony. The power of the harmonious being is released when key-down ends, bringing forth the absolute authority of truth, Explosions: 10, Damage: 6,000%, Max Enemies Hit: 15, Number of Attacks: 7. Unfading Glory Mercedes The noble soul of a beloved ruler is granted glory by the Great Spirit and Ancient Spirit King.
