MapleStory Arcane Umbra Equipment

July 9, 2024

Arcane Umbra Equipment is a set of items in MapleStory that many players aim to get to improve their progression in MapleStory. Arcane Umbra Equipment is related to two bosses: Lucid and Will. These bosses are part of the Arcane River Storyline and players will get to challenge them once they reach the area level requirements and complete the story.

How Do You Get Arcane Umbra Equipment

Arcane Umbra equipment has 7 pieces that make up the set, although most players will go for 6 set effect. Players can earn Arcane Umbra equipment via two different methods: they can either collect the required items to exchange for them or fight the hard-mode bosses that have a small chance to drop the equipment.

There are only certain Arcane Umbra equipment that can be gotten from the two bosses:

Lucid: Weapon, Gloves, Cape, Shoes

Will: Weapon, Overall, Hat, Shoulder

Players will want to get the following: Weapon, Gloves, Cape, Shoes, Hat, Shoulder (missing out Overall).

UPDATE 09/06/2021: As of Patch v.223, Arcane Umbra Equipment will also drop from the following bosses:

  • Gloom (Chaos)
  • Darknell (Hard)
  • Verus Hilla
  • Black Mage

Lachelein / Lucid Equipment

In order to get a piece of Arcane Umbra equipment from Lachelein, you can buy them with Phantasma Coins, which can be exchanged for two different types of items.

Arcane Umbra Equipment Lachelein Coin Shop

The first item called Arcane River Droplet Stone is a rare drop from mobs in Arcane River areas: Lachelein, Arcana.

The second item is Butterfly Droplet Stone, which is dropped from the boss Normal Lucid and Hard Lucid. Check out our Lucid Boss Guide.

By using these two items, you can exchange 1 Butterfly Droplet Stone and 9 Arcane River Droplet Stone for 1 Phantasma Coin.

An Arcane Umbra weapon costs 24 Phantasma Coins, with the other pieces of equipment costing 12 Phantasma Coins.

Normal Lucid only drops 1 Butterfly Droplet Stone per defeat, and since she is a weekly boss, it's going to take you 24 weeks of taking down Normal Lucid in order to earn your Arcane Umbra Weapon. Yikes!

You can find the coin shop in Lachelein hometown map by speaking to NPC Dimo.

The other option is to fight Hard Lucid, which has a small chance to drop pieces of Arcane Umbra equipment.

MapleStory is constantly updating the rates for it's items. They have already increased the droprate of Droplet Stones as of patch v219 and the availability of Arcane Umbra equipment. As more powerful items get added to MapleStory, the older items get more easier to obtain. At the time of writing this, Arcane Umbra equipment is still end-game equipment.

Esfera / Will Equipment

Likewise with the other half of the equipment, you can choose to either exchange items for Arcane Umbra equipment or defeat Hard Will which has a small chance of dropping Arcane Umbra equipment.

For Will, you will need to collect 9 Stone Origin Droplets that drop from regular mobs in Esfera, Tenebris Area and Sellas. You will also need 1 Stone Cobweb Dropet item that drops from Normal Will and Hard Will to exchange them for a Arachno Coin. The prices are very similar to Lachelein Coin shop: 24 Arachno Coins for a weapon, 12 for other pieces of equipment.

You can find the coin shop in Esfera Base Camp map by speaking to NPC Dimo.
