MapleStory Hoyoung Skill Build Guide

June 12, 2024

Hoyoung is a Anima Thief class in MapleStory that yields the power of Talisman Energy to deal devastatig damage to mobs and bosses throughout Maple World. Hoyoung uses their Humanity skills to charge their Talisman Skills, giving the class a unique style of play. As a modern MapleStory class, Hoyoung benefits from great mobbing throughout the early levels and later laters.

Hoyoung Overview

Hoyoung was released in patch v.209 Glory: Strengthened Alliances, which is the patch after the Black Mage was defeated. Hoyoung is a thief class that utilizes the LUK stat and thief equipment in MapleStory. Hoyoung uses skills to generate special energy that allows them to use more powerful skills, including Talisman Energy and Scroll Energy. Whilst it sounds complicated, the class gently introduces the player to the different skill concepts throughout their Job Advancements.

Players who choose to play Hoyoung will notice the class is very easy to play in the early levels. Hoyoung has great mobbing skills that get better from 1st to 5th job. As Hoyoung gets to level 200 and above, their mobbing becomes excellent and seamless, allowing players to have great map coverage whilst training. Buff duration can help massively with Hoyoung, allowing the class to keep 100% up-time in their skills.

As a bossing class, Hoyoung does require a bit of management to make sure you keep DPS high. Hoyoung relies on generating energy for Scroll and Talisman skills, and during a boss this can be a bit harder than just regular training. They have really high damage when you master the class, without needing for lots of funding compared to older classes. They also have an i-frame skill, allowing them to dodge 1-hit KO attacks.
