MapleStory Universe is comprised of several different projects, including MapleStory N which will be the MMORPG releasing based on current MapleStory game but integrated with the blockchain and cryptocurrency.
Items in MapleStory N are going to be tied directly to the blockchain, with certain items being limited in quantity, allowing you to trade them on the blockchain for Cryptocurrency.
Not much is known about what kind of version MapleStory N will run; will it be modern day MapleStory with all the new classes or will it be like Classic MapleStory Before Big Bang update?
A small teaser was posted showing you can connect your Cryptocurrency Wallet, including the popular Metamask Wallet.
If you zoom in on the image, you can also see MapleStory N in the background and a Play Now button, which hopefully shows off the new client that is coming!
Recently, Nexon announced that MapleStory Universe received $100 million in funding, making it clear that this project is very much still alive. MapleStory Universe hasn't been released anywhere yet, including in South Korea which is the home of MapleStory.
MapleStory Universe will also have it's own version of MapleStory Worlds; a platform for creating your own games using MapleStory Assets. This version however will use the blockchain and allow for items to be transferred between games that support the functionality.
Will you be playing MapleStory N when it finally releases or do you think the project has no legs? Let us know in the comments!
