MapleStory Vein Farming - Mysterious Vein, Legendary Flower, Heartstone, Gold Flower

One of the best ways for new players to make Mesos in MapleStory is to farm veins, which are also known as Mysterious Vein, Heartstone and Gold Flower. These "veins" spawn on regular maps and any player can farm them for their rare items.

MapleStory Professions allows players to learn Herbalism and Mining from the town called Ardentmill. These two abilities allow you to "mine" special veins and herbs that spawn around MapleStory regular maps.

Ardentmill can be accessed from Level 30+ and can be found in most major town hubs; use the Quick Move to access it from the main menu.

Once you've learned Herbalism and Mining, you can go off into Maple World to find these rare veins and herbs.

There are six veins/herbs you want to keep an eye out for:

• Gold Flower
• Heartstone
• Mysterious Herb
• Mysterious Legendary Herb
• Mysterious Vein
• Mysterious Legendary Vein

In regular servers, you can farm the items that these veins drop, allowing you to make a lot of mesos. When you're low level and don't have access to high-end content, this method of meso-making can be a great way to earn millions early on.

UPDATE: You now need to defeat 1,000 monsters near your level in order to farm veins and herbs. This resets each day, so you need to do it every day you want to farm. A bit annoying, but 1,000 monsters isn't too difficult in today's MapleStory.

Gold Flower

Propably the most popular herb to find and farm, the Gold Flower is popular because it drops the item Juniper Berry Seed Oil. This item is used to craft Wealth Potions, which are used by high-level players when they train in MapleStory. This makes the Juniper Berry Seed Oils in high demand and sell for a very nice price!

Heartstone

Next up is the Heartstone. This red glowing heart allows you to farm fully-formed ores and crystals, which are used for crafting items.

Mysterious Herb

The Mysterious Herb will give you seeds and other herbs that you can craft yourself to form Oils. You can find the following items from these:

Mysterious Legendary Herb

The Mysterious Legendary Herb is similar to the Mysterious Flower, however it can also drop the Magic Powder (Purple).

Mysterious Vein

The Mysterious Vein drops ores that you can craft to make full ores, plates and crystals. They also drop Cubes!

Best Place To Farm Legendary Veins, Heartstones and Gold Flowers

The best places to farm Veins are areas in MapleStory that have a lot of players pass through.

The Herbs and Veins seem to spawn whenever an active player is in the map; most players ignore the veins and herbs when training, leaving them spawned for you to farm. Once you find a good map, you can then change channel through them to look for any new spawns.

Smaller maps are also good, since you don't have to jump around maps looking for veins that have spawned.

If you have a Hyper Teleport Rock, you can make a list of good maps to search for. It makes travelling 10x easier (in regular servers however you need to pay NX for Hyper Teleport Rocks).

It also helps if you have a high-level character (220+) as you have high avoid, allowing you to dodge mob touch damage. It'll prevent you from bumping around all the time.

How often to Legendary Veins spawn?

Ideally you'd want to check a map every 30 minutes to an hour for respawn of veins. The more active a player is in a map, the more veins and herbs start to spawn.

Does Herbalism and Mining Level affect success rate of item drops?

As far as we know, the answer is no. Even at Level 1 you can get the best drops from Legendary Veins and Herbs.

That being said, it might be a small increase in terms of drop rate but we don't know for sure as Nexon has never released this information.
