Paradox Rift - Best Cards To Pull - Pokemon TCG

November 7, 2023

Paradox Rift is a brand new Pokemon TCG set that comes with plenty of amazing cards including Special Illustration Rares and Hyper Rares. We've narrowed down what we think are going to be the best pulls from this Pokemon TCG set!

Paradox Rift comes with over 260 cards, and you can check out the Paradox Rift Card List to see them all for yourself.

This is a main entry set of the Scarlet and Violet series, so with it comes lots of traditional Pokemon TCG Products like Booster Boxes and Elite Trainer Boxes. This is the four main entry in the Scarlet and Violet series, coming off the back of the special Pokemon 151 Set.

Paradox Rift dives into the past and future of Pokemon with new ancient Pokemon like Roaring Moon Ex and introduces new artificial Pokemon like Iron Hands ex.

This set has the same rarities as previous Scarlet and Violet sets, including Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares, Ultra Rares and Hyper Rares. Some of the best cards to pull in Paradox Rift are Special Illustration Rare cards (identified by the 3 golden star icons).

Best Paradox Rift Cards To Pull

With over 260 cards to choose from, we've tried to narrow down our picks for the best cards to pull from Paradox Rift. Don't agree? Use the comment section below to let us know which cards you think should have made our list. Let's go!

Garchomp EX - Hyper Rare

#260
Garchomp EX

Garchomp EX

Hyper Rare

Starting off our list is the Garchomp EX Hyper Rare card. This Garchomp comes in the new Scarlet and Violet Terastallize form that we've seen in Obsidian Flames and it's a stunner! Whilst Garchomp isn't the most popular Pokemon, we think fans will want this Hyper Rare the most due to it's amazing artwork.

It's not going to be the most expensive card in the set, but it is sitting at a nice $30 in the early market.

Gholdengo EX - Special Illustration Rare

#252
Gholdengo EX

Gholdengo EX

Special Illustration Rare

Gholdengo is the 1000th Pokemon (it's Pokedex entry is 1000!) released and it comes from the Scarlet and Violet generation. This is the first time Gholdengo has been made into a Pokemon TCG card and there are three different versions available to collect: Double Rare Holo, Ultra Rare and Special Illustration Rare.

This Pokemon's body is made up of gold coins called Gimmighoul Coins; let's see if the price of this card shows you the money!

Yveltal - Illustration Rare

#205
Yveltal

Yveltal

Illustration Rare

This legendary Pokemon comes from generation VI and was the mascot for Pokemon Y. There are so many good Illustration Rare cards in this set that fans are going to have a really good time collecting them, especially if the Paradox Rift Pull Rates are kind!

Minior - Illustration Rare

#201
Minior

Minior

Illustration Rare

Another beautiful card; Minior feels like it should be of much higher rarity due to it's great artwork but alas it is just an Illustration Rare. That should make it easier to pull- but there are over 30 Illustration Rare cards to collect in Paradox Rift!

Vanillish - Illustration Rare

#190
Vanillish

Vanillish

Illustration Rare

Vanillish gets a spot on our best cards to pull list due to it's standout art style. This card's art was produced by artist Taiga Kayama, a fairly new artist to the Pokemon TCG series. We hope we get to see more of Taiga in this style!

Mela - Special Illustration Rare

#254
Mela

Mela

Special Illustration Rare

Our first trainer card is Mela, Special Illustration Rare. Currently, this is the most expensive card from Paradox Rift on third-party marketplaces. Mela is from the Scarlet and Violet games and is a part of Team Star, a gang who cause trouble for everyone in the Paldea Region.

At the time of writing this we are seeing this card go for around $60.00 but as with every new release, expect a drop in price once packs start being opened!

Roaring Moon EX - Special Illustration Rare

#251
Roaring Moon EX

Roaring Moon EX

Special Illustration Rare

Next up is the Roaring Moon Ex card. Roaring Moon looks very similar to the Salamence Pokemon but it's actually a brand new entry in Generation IX (#1005). This Special Illustration Rare is likely to be up there with the top pulls from the set for sure.

There is also a really good looking Hyper Rare Roaring Moon card to look out for!

Groudon - Illustration Rare

#199
Groudon

Groudon

Illustration Rare

Groudon is a Pokemon from the third generation- it's one of the oldest Pokemon in the set! This is another one of those beautiful Illustration Rare cards that are going to look great in any collection, but will probably be quite cheap when buying on third party marketplaces. Great if you just want to buy some singles!

Tapu Koko EX - Special Illustration Rare

#247
Tapu Koko EX

Tapu Koko EX

Special Illustration Rare

Tapu Koko is from the Sun & Moon games and this Legendary Pokemon gets three different cards in Paradox Rift including this amazing Special Illustration Rare. Currently hitting highs of $25, it's not a bad card to pick up for your collection.

Iron Valiant EX - Ultra Rare

#225
Iron Valiant EX

Iron Valiant EX

Ultra Rare

Finally, we finish with Iron Valiant Ex - Ultra Rare. We decided to go for the Ultra Rare version of this Pokemon card due to the different style, but the Hyper Rare is just as good if not better. This futuristic Pokemon resembles Gardevoir from generation III.

Let us know in the comments what cards you would add to this list!
