Pokemon 151 is an amazing set with so many good cards that creating a Best Cards To Pull list was almost too difficult! Here are the best cards we think you'll want to pull from Pokemon 151 set.
This Pokemon 151 Card List set contains over 200 cards and includes many of our favorite Pokemon including Charizard, Mew, Pikachu and even Kadabra makes a return!
The set is part of the Scarlet & Violet series and is a special set, meaning there are no Booster Boxes for this set. Instead, you'll have to buy one of the many different Pokemon 151 products that contain Booster Packs.
The set includes the new rarities such as Special Illustration Rare, Double-Holo Rare and Hyper Rare cards.
Pokemon 151 is the fourth set released in 2023 and is also available to play online using Pokemon TCG Live app.
Anyway, let's dive in and we'll show you the top cards we think you'll want to pull from Pokemon 151!
Best Cards To Pull From Pokemon 151
There were so many great cards in this set that it was hard to narrow it down to just this list. If you have a favorite that isn't included, write a comment below telling us which one you think should be added!
Charizard EX - Special Illustration Rare
When there's a Charizard to chase in a Pokemon TCG set, then it's going to always be one of the best pulls of the entire set. In Pokemon 151, the Charizard EX Special Illustration Rare is the card to pull.
In Pokemon 151, you can pull the full evolution line of Charmander in full-art cards. If you get all three, you can see an amazing piece of artwork progression as Charmander evolves into Charmeleon and then to Charizard. Shout out to artist miki kudo!
Mew EX - Hyper Rare
Mew was a secret hidden Pokemon in the original games; in fact, in Red and Blue versions released in the America and Europe, you couldn't get Mew in the game without the use of a glitch or cheating device.
Mew EX being the main Hyper Rare Pokemon is very fitting for Pokemon 151. It was a symbol of the Pokemon magic and represented some of the mystery around Pokemon in the early days of the franchise.
Poliwhirl - Illustration Rare
This Poliwhirl artwork is too good to not be listed on our best cards to pull list. Despite being only an Illustration Rare, this card is definitely one you want to have in your Pokemon 151 Collection.
You might find this card for less than $10 on third-party marketplaces, so if you don't pull it yourself, it might be worth a pickup!
Erika's Invitation - Special Illustration Rare
We get four Trainer cards in Pokemon 151 and we went with the Special Illustration Rare Erika's Invitation card. This card is already hitting highs of $70 before Pokemon 151 hits the shelves- it will be interesting to see where it ends up.
The other Trainer card we could have included here was the Giovanni Special Illustration Rare. Which do you prefer?
Charmander - Illustration Rare
All the starters in Pokemon 151 get there own Illustration Rare card and they all compliment their evolution cards that come later. You'll definitely want to get all three starter Pokemon in your collection but with Pokemon 151 Pull Rates being quite rare, you might just have to settle for one of them!
Blastoise EX - Special Illustration Rare
The Blastoise EX Special Illustration Rare also gets a slot on our list. Charizard does usually get all the limelight, but we love all of the starter evolutions just as much!
We're seeing this card go for around $70-$80 on the early market, which is very high price for new cards that have just released!
Venusaur EX - Special Illustration Rare
If we have Charizard and Blastoise, we must also have Venusaur EX! We can't quite make up our favorite of the three, but perhaps Venusaur is edging it.
There are also three Ultra Rare and Double-Holo Rare versions of the three starter final evolution cards to look out for in Pokemon 151.
Mew EX - Ultra Rare
We haven't yet featured an Ultra Rare card in our list and we're going with the Mew. We love the Hyper Rare, but there is something clean and simple about an Ultra Rare that compliments the Pokemon better.
Mew is our favorite of the original 151 Pokemon, so it gets two entries into the list!
Pikachu - Illustration Rare
This card might go slightly under the radar with Pokemon 151 due to so many beautiful cards being released, but the Pikachu Illustration Rare is also one we think you'll be happy with if you pulled it. The artwork features other Pokemon too, including a sneaky Gengar- can you spot it?
Zapdos - Special Illustration Rare
Finally, we finish with the Legendary Bird Pokemon Zapdos. It actually features all three of the birds in the artwork if you look closely, so we don't mind that there wasn't a Special Illustration Rare of the other birds.
Let us know what you think of our list in the comments below!
